Radioactive ions. FUKUSHIMA FUKUSHIMA
86 When there was the Chernobyl accident were distributed some information that I have never forgotten. For example, names of radioactive isotopes that had spread to the toxic cloud. The one with the shorter life, which halves the radiative charge in a few days, and iodine 131. This goes in the thyroid, where it replaces the natural iodine which is necessary for the functioning of the gland that regulates important functions including metabolism. If the thyroid has the iodine it needs is defense dall'isotopo, so prevention consists of the consumption of iodized salt or seaweeds, which contain good quantities.
Other isotopes are spread cesium 137 and strontium that is deposited in bones and muscles.
Defending against them is much more difficult and time-limit a lot longer, up to hundreds of years.
These substances act at the level of atoms of the body with waves of energy (gamma rays) that the electrons knocked out of their seats. They are not actual diseases, is a rather chaotic and random removal of the bricks of which we are made, which causes changes in DNA and symptoms of the most varied.
After the Hiroshima bomb was noticed that a cure could be made just from the Japanese diet, rich in algae. I reproduce below an article found on the website "Knowledge denied" with the name of the author

G.Pattera :
A differenza dei degenti di altri ospedali che perirono nei giorni because of subsequent radiation, those of Dr. Akizuki, including himself and his staff, all were saved. (1)
Akizuki said he had acted instinctively and did not know exactly why his diet had worked the miracle , but his experience, along with other observed also in Hiroshima in individual cases, inspired some scientists to conduct research on the mechanism by which certain foods or substances might protect against ionizing radiation and cancer.
In 1964, researchers from the Gastro-Intestinal Laboratory at McGill University in Montreal showed that alginates contained in the algae up to 80% reduced the amount di stronzio assorbito dall'intestino.
In un suo libro(4), nel quale comparava ed elaborava vari studi sia statunitensi sia giapponesi, Steven Schecter afferma: "Non esiste nessun altro group of foods more protective of radioactive elements and other environmental contaminants of algae. They can prevent the absorption of radionuclides and heavy metals such as cadmium, barium, zinc and other hazardous substances in the environment.
The quote ends here. The algae can be consumed as such, but are not very pleasant. A simple way is to use the little annoying and kombu, or kelp, for cooking vegetables, which melts in the cooking liquid. However, there are tablets or capsules on the market.

Hollywood, Head In The Suitcase
Now Prestigiacomo said that Italy sees no reason to take a step back on nuclear power and that we do we will be even safer than Japanese.
other news from the first attack: the French say they will see if Italy will honor its commitments, having ordered 3 or 4 third-generation plants. Emphasize the third. There are already central to the fourth generation and perhaps if they are preparing for a fifth, I do not know, but the fourth is for sure. Usually an ascending order indicates a higher quality and greater efficiency. Why buy
central third generation if there are already the fourth?
to save?
It 's true, the chant of the PDL is that we need cheap energy. But it depends on how they make a decision (see Fukushima, first post), if we exclude all without consequences, including the ones we can imagine Fukushima, it is clear that nuclear energy is not there we can afford. As a kind umano.Veramente too expensive.
Given the extreme danger of combining seismic area, high inherent risk, management underworld, it would perhaps be not to save on power, at least buy the best.
are really painful, so accustomed to the story-telling that lie without shame.
RAI news this morning reported this fact: a company in Umbria, on the basis of a preliminary agreement has received about € 4 million to make solar panels for photovoltaic and disappeared with the loot, without delivering anything and without a trace. In a country so you really want to do nuclear power? Konrad Lorenz said that we are not able to do damage without even the transportation of oil (and mining, as recalled the incident in the Gulf of Mexico), what makes nuclear energy?
Speaking of shame, there is much talk of composed and dignified conduct of the Japanese at this juncture, the film does not in fact almost no one sees you cry or scream at the most encompassing of resigned sharing . The Japanese are very different from other civilizations, many years ago I read the reflections of a journalist who had long lived in Tokyo and described many daily acts, even sewing, which they do the opposite. Italian researchers say it is a tribal behavior, they feel the social group membership and are not individualists .. They behave like bees, without showing panic working for the common good. The most feared is unable to fulfill his duty, seeing as the realization of their role in pursuing the common good. If this does not work we are ashamed. Shame? What word is it? What do you mean?
